Team Caterpillar was formally launched in June 2019. We have had the most amazing success seeing our members complete 5k and 10k runs with many going on to half marathons, marathons and Ultras.
The support our members give to each other is what makes this group a success. What started as an experiment has resulted in a fabulous group of individuals coming together every week to motivate each other and make lasting friendships.
The values of Team Caterpillar are to support and inspire others to achieve their personal goals. By combining those values Team Caterpillar members have a sense of togetherness that exists when training alone, in groups or in races.
We believe that representing the group is not just for elite or competitive runners. For our members, representing Team Caterpillar is about spreading the group core values and encouraging others to join a wider community.
Our approach is serving the community, bettering lives and fuelling positive change to health and wellbeing.
Based out of The Station, Richmond we run weekly sessions open to anyone from our local areas of Catterick, Bedale and right into the Yorkshire Dales. If you live a little too far away to join us, then you can get involved in our online challenges that take place in our Facebook group! We have members across the world from Switzerland to Australia!
All running sessions are completely free other than some of our charity projects where we ask for a small donation to support local charities that are close to our hearts.
Team caterpillar is my baby - not just because I love running but I wanted to bring people together and create a supportive community. I want to fight the stigma around running groups being intimidating and help as many members as possible get active and make friends!
Like Dionne, Doug is a fellow run leader and supports Dionne in hosting the sessions. Doug will support you in reaching that 5K goal or running that marathon all with a smile on his face and a joke to be made with anyone!
John is our own social butterfly, known affectionately as Mr Richmond. If there's a route to be explored or a hill to be conquered John will happily take you along. if you are looking for the fun factor John delivers it by the bucket load.
Sharon is loved by everyone and her run sessions reflect this is in growing popularity. A caring and supportive approach is shown to all our members regardless of ability and Sharon's unique skill of understanding runners needs and requirements shines though.
